Tori Rose is a contemporary and abstract Australian artist living in the remote rural town of Lake Cargelligo, NSW.
Growing up in a farming family in the Hilltops region, Tori was constantly inspired by the by the landscapes, colours and resilience of mother nature and humanity.
She is the youngest of two and when she wasn’t creating chaos on the farm with her big brother, she was outside painting and drawing in the sun.
Tori has been a creator for as long as she can remember and is drawn to creating intuitive pieces that highlight the joy and unique beauty of her surroundings through an abstract expressionist lens.
As a self-taught artist, she loves creating intuitive pieces that are raw, energetic and full of life, vibrancy, boldness and colour. She paints unscripted, with her creative intuition guiding the process.
Her art is joyfully inspired by many Australian artists, layering acrylics with pastels, oils and other mediums.
Tori also draws inspiration from uninhibited child-like creativity and aims to bring happiness to her audience through her works.
As an artist, Tori believe that her works carry a part of her heart and soul, and she hopes that those that view and collect her work, feel the love that was poured into every single piece.
Tori is also a primary teacher and began her career teaching full time, later moving into part time teaching to allow more time for her developing art practice.
It was through her passion for working with children that both her writing and artistic practice were empowered, as she saw the beauty in children’s innate creative ability and innocent perspective of life. Through this passion, she has published a children’s book ‘Billie the Bilby’, a unique story that encourages self belief and empowerment within its readers.
Tori is also a musician, and one half of the acoustic duo ‘Tori and Jason’. She grew up singing and playing guitar, and, similar to painting, music gives her a unique feeling of freedom, joy and connectedness.
Tori lives with her partner Darcy on their family farm where she happily works from her studio.
